Easy to maneuver
I bought this foot stool to help my Dad to keep his legs raised while sitting. He recently had surgery, and had some leg swelling. His normal chair was too "soft" to sit in, to has to sit in a harder chair, but that has nothing to put your legs up. So -- this comes in handy, as he can move it around, depending on where he sits (inside or outside), and it's lightweight too.

I would buy this product again
I really like the Adjustable Footstool. I use it when I am in my bedroom sitting in my chair to have my legs up, by me having blood clots. The only thing is I have to duct tape it underneath to keep it in place. I love the price, and I love the Adjustable Footstool because it can fit into my suitcase whenever I travel or visit my friends.

Not happy, poor quality
This product is very poor quality. It will not stay in position if you move any at all. It just folds up at the slightest movement.
Jan 30, 2017
I am feeling more relaxed when I sit.
I use this foot stool mostly in the evenings as I settle in my chair to read a good book. I also use it when I cannot sleep, get up and put my feet way up for a while. Then I can sleep better in bed it seems.

Would not buy again.
I bought this to place under my computer desk. Not well made, continuously falls for no reason. I would not recommend this to any one. I would send back for a refund but no longer have packing.

I would not buy this product again.
Purchased for its portability, but I found it to be too narrow and nor sturdy.

A piece of junk and total waste of money!
The second time I used it a portion of the wood broke apart and I did contact Harry Carter and have to admit they were ver The second time I used it a portion of the wood broke apart and I did contact Harry Carter and they were very accommodating and replaced it. The second one I used to her about three times and portions of the wood th that held in the adjusting parts literally fell off. This is a total piece of junk and a total waste of money.

I would not buy this product again because it was rickety.
I needed this product to work, but it started falling apart from the very first use. It couldn't handle the weight of my legs. I couldn't change positions without fear of it breaking. Finally it just broke. The wood in it is thin and snapped.

Satisfied With Reservations
Use it while watching TV. Built very flimsy, I don't expect that it will last long. I had to re-glue a piece that fell off of the structure on day 2 of ownership.-

I would buy this product again
My sister loves this item, I would recommend it to others
Jul 28, 2016
I would not waste $$
Footstool sucks used 3 times and broke bent frame so not even able to fix don't waste your money on this product
Jul 08, 2016
Good Thought, but does not sustain weight
Within a hour, screws were falling out, does not sustain weight well. My husband reattached screws with wood putty, will have to see how that holds up. Good Ideal though.
Jun 12, 2016
This product could stand to be more sturdy
I like this product, but when lifted it collapses, which is very annoying. But while in use I love it. The way I can rest my legs and feet on it feels so comfortable. I really like how it can be adjusted. Sometimes when I just want my feet off the ground and place my feet flat on the footstool, it feels great. However, it would be better if it were made out of sturdier material because it can break easily.
May 14, 2016
A great product for the price!
It's great for someone who needs a light weight foot rest. However, it collapses easily. I use it for putting on shoes or for when I don't want to use my recliner's foot rest. I also temporarily store items on it.

Manufacturer needs quality control measures to insure proper alignment of slots
Apr 27, 2016
Great value
Very versatile. Lightweight, folds easily, stores in small space.
Apr 20, 2016
Too Flimsey
Product is too flimsy - I can't shift my position with my feet/legs without the whole thing collapsing because the braces won't stay in place! Very frustrating.
Mar 31, 2016
don't judge a book by its cover
it falls
Mar 19, 2016
Not Well Made
This footstool is not a well-designed or well-made product. It is very flimsy and does not work as advertised. On the one I received one of the adjustment wire holders fell off because it was barely attached with very short nails. This footstool has a tendency to release the adjusters and collapse unexpectedly. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Mar 13, 2016
Bad product
Went together good then first time used it broke.
Feb 03, 2016
Very poor quality, I had to have it repaired already. It is not very sturdy and the wood is not strong at all. I bought it for my invalid husband to help with swelling in his ankles and feet. And you have to be very careful when you move it or even set it up. Sorry, but I was very disappointed
Dec 27, 2015
would not buy this product ever again.
screws are too smalls - hinges breaks off so easy-was so embarrased when when my son-in-law tried it and the top portion broke off.
Dec 22, 2015
Fell apart
Used as directed. Flimsy construction. Fell apart in 30 days.
Dec 21, 2015
Comfort at last!
I had no difficulty following the directions. Although the wood is very light weight, I think I will get a number of years use out of this purchase.

5593 Adjustable Footstool
After examining the stool, I was not pleased. As I started to put it together, screwing the screws into the board, the board split. My opinion of the adjustable foot stool is that it is a piece of junk. It is not durable enough hold a person's feet. I was purchasing for my mother to rest her feet on. Please refund my money and shipping cost to return it.
Dec 09, 2015
Poor Quality
Bought this for my FIL to elevate his feet. The footstool fell apart (at the seams) within days of use. Poor construction and quality.
Nov 30, 2015
I dont think I would order this again
once I got it ready to use the cushioned top would only lay at a slant instead of flat no matter how I set it
Nov 27, 2015
Wish it was sturdy
I used the product to prop my feet up, while sitting on my couch reading. I was nice to finally have something to rest my feet on. The only problem is that the screw attachments came apart (one on the bottom, one on the top). I thought, no problem, screwed them back in and it seemed as good as new, so? The bottom one came off again, and was not fixable, so I had to throw it out. I can usually fix small to medium issues, but this just isn't worth the money.
Oct 30, 2015
Nice stool for use with a desk chair
Oct 29, 2015
A very flimsy product
Never have seen a more flimsy product. It fell apart with the weight of one foot. We can only use it when it is flat on the floor, and it is useful for that type of footrest, but nothing else.
Oct 25, 2015
I am sending it back!!
Difficult to set up. Then I put my legs on it and it broke!
Oct 14, 2015
Bad assembly
Fell apart after 3rd use. Seems like there was no glued to hold it together. It did not break it just fell apart.
Oct 12, 2015
looked alot stronger
broke in less then a week
Oct 03, 2015
very comfortable
this was for my husband to put his feet up and he likes it very much
Sep 22, 2015
My mother uses this adjustable daily, she loves it
My mother uses this product on her front porch
Sep 21, 2015
weight limit
Product discription does not say it only holds 25 lbs. My legs were on it and my dog jumped up and it broke.
Sep 16, 2015
good idea
Good idea for light use. It isn't constructed very well. The wooden parts came apart at the joints.
Aug 27, 2015
Cost more to send it back than junk it. It fell apart the first-time I used it. Only for a foot.
Aug 19, 2015
I was using it personally. The dog bumped into it the second day and broke it. We glued it back together, but came apart a few days later. Not satisfactory at all.
Aug 11, 2015
made very poorly. cardboard backing and one wood piece fell off as the small nails were on cardboard.
Aug 09, 2015
love it!
I love the stool, easy to handle, I use it outside when sitting.light, but very sturdy!
Jun 29, 2015
Would recommend this product to anyone in a heart beat
It is great for my husband as he sits in his easy chair.
Jun 24, 2015

Very poorly made broke at first time using.

about my
it was a piece of junk it brock the same week
May 04, 2015
Very cheep made! product. not worth the money
I had the product for 2 days and it just collapsed. Very dissatisfied.
Apr 03, 2015
Don"t buy
absolutely nothing good to say & the negative comments would take up too much room here
Mar 08, 2015
not well made
product was not well made. In my opinion it won't last long
Jan 13, 2015
I wished I had of seen these reviews before purchasing. I purchased the item for my mother who has to keep her legs elevated, because the grooves are not properly cut and the wood is thin and cheap it fell apart as soon as she put her legs on it. Needless to say this is the last purchase I will make from this company.
Jan 06, 2015
Folding foot stool
It broke right after they got it after using it only once.
Dec 31, 2014
It was a peice of junk.
had to sent it back it . It was JUNK !!!! Was not glued together. It fell apart as soon as I unpacked it.
Dec 28, 2014
TERRIBLE! Very Flimsy. Fell apart!
We didn't get a chance to use it! It fell apart!
Dec 26, 2014
Not worth the cost
The concept is great, but the quality is extremely low. The wood frame is thin and lightweight and could split easily. But the worst part is that the notches for the metal rods that are supposed to hold the footrest in the desired position are too big and therefore causes the entire thing to collapse with the slightest movement of your feet. I could probably build a much better one using parts from this one, but simply adding something to hold the metal rods in place would be a huge improvement. Without at least that improvement, I could not recommend this product to anyone.

Just What We Were Looking For!
This item is perfect for an Alzheimer's patient I help care for. We have trouble getting her to keep her legs elevated (for health reasons) because the footstool we have is uncomfortable for her. This adjustable stool, however, is perfect for both her comfort and health needs. I wish I'd known about it sooner!
Dec 10, 2014
Broke the second items it was used
Thin and cheap wood
Dec 03, 2014
cheaply made and it broke
Don't order it. I liked the product when I received it. I used it to rest my feet on for (2) weeks and then one evening it just collapsed. I am an average size person so I don't think the weight of my legs/feets are above the normal person that would use it.
Nov 21, 2014
Cheap Construction
This item broke within a day after I received it.Would be better with quality materials. Then again that would make it cost more.Worth every bit of what I paid and less.
Nov 18, 2014
Exudes beauty lacks practicality
I would recommend this with notations as to what needs done to make it more practical if the seller would consider those adjustments I could recommend it completely. 1. Make the grooves and rods for adjustability fit tighter to keep the stool from collapsing so easily 2. Glue the frame at the dowel seems for more stability so it will not fall apart so easily
Nov 17, 2014
Don't Purchase it.
Heavy legs broken piece or fell apart.
Nov 11, 2014
I would recommend this product for purch
This purchase was for work use.
Nov 10, 2014
The wooden frame split in two.
This product cannot be used because it broke the second time I used it.
Oct 25, 2014
" this product is very handy"
It was very quick and all was in good very shape.
Aug 08, 2014
do not buy this
very poorly made
Aug 04, 2014
Poorly put together
Used it one time and it fell apart. The joints were just pushed together with small dowel. I used wood glue and glued all the joints together. It works fine now. If buying the first thing to do is take apart at joints and use wood glue to put it together, other wise it falls apart.
Jul 30, 2014
Trouble Adjusting
Biggest drawback is that it will collapse when moved if one is not VERY careful with item. A plus is that it can be easily stored out of sight. If a friend wanted a footstool that she wanted to be able to move out of sight, I would recommend this footstool. Otherwise, I would not.
May 06, 2014
Perfect for my needs
I'm sorry to say I haven't adjusted the foot rest from its lowest position. It is just perfect for my chair. I only need a couple of inches to get my legs even with my hips, and this does the trick.
Apr 15, 2014
Good concept but poor quality
What should I expect from a piece of furniture that costs $20? Not much apparently. The wood frame broke into pieces on the second day... from the weight of my feet.
Apr 03, 2014
Don't buy this
When I opened the box a piece was laying in the bottom. It looked like it at one time had been glued on. And once you set it up if you even touch it it will fold right up. Nice ideal but what a piece of trash.
Mar 31, 2014
love it
Works as advertised. Cheaply made, but looks nice.
Mar 27, 2014
Good for the price
I bought this for my husband so that he wouldn't use our living room coffee table as a footstool. Though it's not a small room, the setup of our living room furniture doesn't allow for a full-sized ottoman, so I figured this was a good alternative that can be stored under the couch when not in use. It slides nicely under the couch and is easy to fold and put away, however it's kind of a pain to take it out and set it up every time he wants to use it. This is not a product that I would keep out in my living room- the metal parts that are used to prop it up are very unattractive, so it needs to be put away when it's not being used. Overall, it 's a decent solution for the price, but it's definitely not something that will look too nice in your home.
Mar 14, 2014
This product was cheaply made.
the product looked like a solution to help elevate my fathers legs and small for his den to even store when not in use. I was very disappointed when the one broke for my mother. We ended up buying a reclining couch.
Mar 13, 2014
For the price it does fine
Since I don't have a recliner, this helps me elevate my feet some. No, it's not the sturdiest, but it does the job. Yes, sometimes it will collapse, but never while my legs are on it, so far. So, for the price, it does a great job
Feb 17, 2014
Worth almost every cent
I got this for my brother who has edema of his ankles. I had to anchor the adjustments with duct tape to hold them in place (slips out with the slightest of lifts). After anchoring them, the rest works beautifully (though we don't change heights), is durable, and quite comfortable. Be sure to put the higher edge towards the chair.
Feb 11, 2014
It's heavenly!!!
I'm surprised at the reviews!! True, the instructions says not to sit or stand on it. It's to elevate your legs while sitting on the couch. Yes, you have to use as directed. It's the most comfortable! Even my Mom, who is 87 years old, when she comes to visit, is so delighted when I set her up with the adjustable footstool. It's awesome! So, I just bought another one, one for my Mom and one for me. Plus, it's a great price!!

Adjustable Footstool
I purchased this product to elevate my legs for better circulation. But it is too weak and it collapse, the nails did not hold the little piece of wood that was to keep the stool raised up it feel off. The stool is very weak. When I put my legs on the stool the stool just collapse, and the wood was split.
Dec 13, 2013
Adjustable Footstool
Need to elevate my legs. Will have screws super glued in before using and whatever else needs to be done before hand. Had previous experience with footstool.
Nov 25, 2013
Picture in catalog looks better than the real product.
Sep 07, 2013
Not easy to get it to stay in the position you want it in and it is very flimsy. Once you get done fighting to get it set, it works ok, if you don't move.
Aug 26, 2013
Very Handy
Adjustability is great. Helps my leg circulation and back. Fits my needs.
Aug 22, 2013
Not sturdy enough. Cumbersome to raise and lower. Settings will slip.
Aug 15, 2013
perfect for travel
whenever I travel I will have it in case the motel room does not have a footstool.
Aug 06, 2013
Jun 09, 2013
Really Flimsy
Really flimsy - it broke the second time I used it. You cannot put ANY weight whatsoever on it, so if your legs are heavy, beware. My husband repaired and reinforced the bottom slats to make it useable. Adjustable positions are comfortable, but it really needs to be made sronger.
Jun 06, 2013
used when in church or outside the house
Im only going to use this when I go to church or functions outside my house that I have to sit for long periods of time.people don't want me to put my feet on their furniture..which is understandable
May 14, 2013
Perfect for what I need.
I have had both knees replaced and this product is excellent for comfort at all times. It also helps my hips and back while I am relaxing either reading or watching TV. Because my living room is small, this is perfect as it folds flat and I can leave it at the end of the couch out of the way but handy for when I need to use it.
Apr 05, 2013
Nice Useful Product
This item works great. My feet don't touch the floor when sitting in my favorite chair; this is just the right height for comfort. Low enough for me to be able to use the foot rest in the raised position also. Not a top notch piece of furniture but good enough for the price.
Mar 22, 2013
Adjustable Footstool
My husband needed to keep his feet up. We have limited space and it's handy to be able to fold down if wanted.
Mar 17, 2013
Ajustable Footstool
I have a knee injury needed something to prop my leg up on works just fine.
Mar 11, 2013
Poorly made & difficult to assemble.
Mar 01, 2013
very flimsy construction
As with most of the other comments it is not built very sturdy. It lasted only a couple of hours before it fell apart!!!
Nov 16, 2012
Another Disappointed Customer
Screws broke while trying to tighten feet on bottom. Pre-drilled holes not aligned. Wood near hinges broke completely off while testing it the first time. The only good thing I can say is that HC Rep readily offered a refund and prepaid postage label for return. Should have looked at reviews before order placed.
Jun 17, 2012
Design Flaw
Poor quality control. The main adjustment part did not align evenly on either side of the base, therefore the hinge would not hold up the footrest. I got 2 separate orders & both were designed with the Same defect.
Jun 02, 2012
Wish I had read the reviews first
The idea was great. Easy to store when not in use. But wish I had read the reviews first. It broke within the first week of use. Very flimsy product for the money.
Apr 24, 2012
not stable enough
Use to prop 1 leg that's swollen. Easy to put together but not stable enough. Will fold if moved, needs to have hooks or something to stay open and not fold up at the slightest touch.
Apr 18, 2012
Really i should ask for a refund. The glued wood came apart the first week. It is very comfortable but folds up with the slightest movement.
Feb 27, 2012
Don't waste your money
After this arrived, I was so happy. I have a medical need to keep my legs up and I thought this would do the trick w/out buying a full ottoman. What I got was a box wood pieces that wouldn't stay up, support the weight of my legs (both) at the same time, nor could I fit both on this thing at the same time. I found that the adjustment holes were drilled incorrectly which made it hard to keep it level or steady at a height that I wanted. I tried using wood glue because this thing eventually broke after just a few months of use. No way could it be used for sitting unless for a very small light weight child. The picture makes it looks so sturdy, but in reality, it's poorly manufactured. Sorry, can't recommend product.
Jan 28, 2012
i love the concept, needs sturdier build
i'm diabetic and can't walk. my feet swell and this product had a great concept. it helped until it broke, i think if it was made sturdier it would be perfect,
Jan 25, 2012
This broke within 7 days of purchase~~I should have known better. Angry at myself for wasting my money. Take your [$] + S&H and put it towards a real ottoman off another seller.
Jan 24, 2012
great idea just not sturdy enough
works great
Jan 19, 2012
The idea is good, but the quality is not. Its flimsy, the metal arms do not stay in the pre-cut slots well at all.
Jan 09, 2012
Amazing is the word
I bought this as a gift for the family. My daughter uses it most of the time. She was using the computer chair as her footstool, not anymore. My cat thinks this is a new perch for her to sleep on. Don't know why we did not get it before now. This is great that it can be rolled out of the way when we need to.. Am considering this as a gift for someone outside of the family.
Jan 01, 2012
Quality So Bad I'm Ashamed I Bought It
I was so disappointed in this product. I purchased it for my mother and wrapped it as a gift, knowing I would help her put it together when she opened it. It was broek in two places (the wood from the foot extender) It was horribly cheap. The covering was falling off the super thin foam pad and I was so incredibly embarassed that I had given it to her as a gift.
Dec 27, 2011
Too, too flimsy
Just to flimsy works well but the design is just so not sturdy as we set it up for use.
Dec 23, 2011
Great little product!
Easy to pull from "out-of-sight" and set up for having my feet up during knitting, reading and watching TV!! Have thoroughly enjoyed for two weeks....hope it lasts for a long time.
Dec 07, 2011
I bought this item to take on a trip.
I bought this foot stool to take with me to Oklahoma. I am handicaped and unable to sleep on a bed, so I ordered to use with a chair. Unfortunately I didn't receive it on time to take it with me. I'll take it on my next trip.
Nov 05, 2011
Disappointed - DID NOT WORK as shown
Followed directions exactly in putting together. First usage, it BROKE. Went back over directions, followed them carefully, didn't work again. Tried using only in down position. That didn't work out well either. Did not return due to shipping costs to return item. Very disappointed.

Jun 02, 2011
Love it, love it, love it
I use the adjustable footstool under my desk at the office. I have a bad back and need to put my legs up or my hips ache. I was using my trash can but it would break and bend. The sheep skin is an added bonus because it is soft on my legs when I am wearing skirts and dresses and helps keep them warm in cold months. This is the second one I have purchased and I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs to elevate their legs.
May 14, 2011
The idea was good
The idea behind this item was good, but this thing is so flimsy and poorly made, that I have only used it once because it collapses and will not stay up in a usable position. I put it in my husband's workshop for him to try to make it better and useful. I need to elevate my feet and legs in the evening, yet be able to fold it away in the daytime. As is, it's more bother than it's worth.
May 14, 2011
Exactly what I expected and what I need!
I have it in front of my sofa which I use watching tv. I'm a shortie, and it adjusts any way I want it, which is great! Other footstools don't adjust and are basically for taller people. I consider this a gem!!!
May 07, 2011
It was a good products for me.
I use this product every day.
Apr 10, 2011
comfort at last.
Apr 08, 2011
Too wobbly
I really like the concept but am not satisfied with product. It's too wobbly when my legs are on it. If I move the thing falls out of it's holes and the whole thing falls.
Apr 04, 2011
Too short for the job
Too short for long legs. Slanted wrong/causes pain in the knees
Mar 24, 2011
It's the right definition for the produc
I work at a computer most of the day and my legs get sore and my feet fall asleep. Now I can raise my legs to different positions and it helps my posture also so I am not slouching in my chair. I no longer have pain in my neck, feet, or legs when I use the footrest.
Mar 24, 2011
Nice but not very sturdy
One of the screws holding the bracket under the pad came loose and the bracket came undone causing the whole thing to come apart. the adjustable ends of the bracket don't stay in the grooves very well.
Mar 15, 2011
Great producct
Due to having gout I must keep my foot elevated so this is perfect for under my desk. The only thing that could be fixed on this product is a way to keep it from coming unhooked from your setting.
Feb 12, 2011
needs work
I had high hopes for this since I'm short. Its OK but it doesn't stay in the position you put it in if you move off it collapses. Since I'm the only one who uses it I had hubby fix it permanently in one position so it would stop falling. I would still recommend it but only if someone had a way to secure it like we did.
Nov 04, 2010
Adjustable footstool
The braces that hold it do not stay in place well. If you move it, the entire thing falls down. Needs to lock in the position you want it in.
Aug 23, 2010
Very Convenient Easy to put aside
To use in front or beside you, while sitting, place a tray on top and it makes a nice little table to hold a plate, glass or cup. Easily reachable.
Aug 17, 2010
Now you see it; now you don't.
Used in Living roomm when reading. Can easily fold and slip under chair out of sight when not in use; doesn't clutter the room Would like it if it was just a little sturdier
