How do I sign up?

There are four ways to sign-up for promotional emails:

  1. Placing an order on HarrietCarter.com will automatically add you to our email list. (unless you deselect the promotional email request during your ordering process).
  2. Enter your email address in the “Email sign-up” form on the web site, located in the upper left and also across the bottom of every page on the Web site.
  3. Send an email to customerservice@harrietcarter.com requesting to be added to the promotional email list.
  4. If placing an order by phone, the call center operator will ask if you would like to be added to our promotional list.

How do I unsubscribe?

If you no longer want to receive emails on our promotions and specials, you can opt out 2 ways:

  1. At the bottom of all the promotional emails you receive, there is a link to unsubscribe from our list. This will immediately change your status and your email address will be removed from our mailings.
  2. Send an email to customerservice@harrietcarter.com and request to have your name removed from our email list. It could take up to 2 weeks to process this method of unsubscribing from our list.

Please note: Emails confirming your order, informing you of the status of your order and shipment of your order are not promotional emails. These are necessary communications to let you know that your order have been received, processed and shipped.

Once you have opted out of our email list, you cannot re-subscribe through the Web site using the same email address. This is a federal law called Can-Spam that went into effect January 2005. To re-subscribe, you need to send an email to customerservice@harrietcarter.com with a request to be added back into our promotional database. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please allow 2 weeks to process this request.

Does placing an order on your Web site automatically subscribe me for promotional emails?

Yes. Placing an order on HarrietCarter.com automatically adds you to our promotional email database. During your ordering process you may uncheck the box about subscribing. If you do not request to be opted-out, you will automatically begin receiving promotional emails.

Why can’t I view my Harriet Carter email?

Depending on what email client you use (Microsoft Outlook, AOL, Verizon, etc.), there are specific preferences that you, as the user, need to select in order to view graphic emails sent by Harriet Carter. These can usually be found under a tab called “Options” or “Preferences” in your email toolbar.

Usually, if you include our email address in your address book, you will be able to receive our emails. That email address is HarrietCarter@reply.harrietcarter.com.

Why aren’t I receiving an email after I subscribed?

Please allow up to two weeks after you subscribe before receiving an email. On average we contact our customers every two weeks or so (more often during the Christmas season). You may have just signed up at the beginning of that two week cycle. Please make sure that you put the email address of the promotional messages in your email address book: HarrietCarter@reply.harrietcarter.com.

If you do not receive an email within two weeks, it is possible that the email address you signed up with was typed incorrectly. Please email customerservice@harrietcarter.com with your username, and we’ll check it out for you.

I didn’t subscribe, but I get emails from HarrietCarter.com anyway. Why?

HarrietCarter.com will send you server generated emails:

  1. When you place your order. This is to assure you that the order went through to our system.
  2. When your order has been processed. This is generated when we have processed your credit card and your order through our fulfillment system.
  3. When your order has been shipped.

If you are receiving promotional emails, and you did not subscribe, there are two possibilities:

  1. Inadvertently, the check box requesting promotional emails was checked when you placed an order.
  2. Another customer with a closely similar email address inadvertently typed your email address in.

In either case, you can unsubscribe in one of two ways:
